In Samalut we visit the Church of St. Mark, and the Good Samaritan hospital founded by Bishop Paphnotius, a former medical doctor. It has become the most important hospital in the region, for both Christians and Muslims. We can stay overnight in the church's air-conditioned guesthouse, and have our meals in its five star restaurant.
