Al–Qusseir is beautifully situated on the East
bank of the Nile, east of Al-Qusiya. Here, we visit the Church of the Holy
Virgin of the Romans, and the cave of the cow. The village priest, father
Lukas, who passed away a few years ago, believed that the Holy Family passed
by al-Qusseir on their return to Palestine. He was convinced of this because
of an apparition of the Holy Virgin in this cave church in 1846.
