Al-Qusiya

South of Dayrut, lies Al-Qusiya, which, according to tradition has not only been visited by the Holy Family but is also the only town that has been cursed. Local Christians believe this refers to a specific location in al-Qusiya that was once used as a pharaonic temple. The ruins may still be there (but have not been excavated). It is a small spot of land were nothing is built and nothing grows, which is thought to be the result of this curse. The bishop of Al-Qusiya has an excellent guesthouse.
